Glitches with AKG headphones

I'm just going to dive right into my problem. My S8 is experiencing some weird glitches when I plug in the AKG headphones. Whether I am listening to music or not, what happens is the bottom left portion of the screen activates (my phone app is there, so it auto opens the phone app). A blue box appears around the app just before this happens. I'll press the home button to exit, but immediately it will open back up again. Once open, the contacts button in the middle at the top will then be repeatedly activated until it is highlighted. If by chance I am able to exit the application fast enough and swipe up for my apps panel, then the top left application gets activated and opens (for me this is Instagram).

Not only that, but as I am listening to music the volume will randomly start to decrease. It will keep going down until its completely off. I can turn back up the volume, but its like I'm fighting against the phone that wants the volume down. The button for the playlist once in Samsung Music always gets activated much like then contacts tab in the phone app, being repeatedly activated until highlighted.

I believe it may be because of heat/humidity, as I recently moved from Canada to the Caribbean. When I was in Canada, I never had any issue like this (or any issue at all). But my first day down here the malfunction started, leading me to believe it could be location.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on or how to fix it. I really do like the AKG headphones and would prefer to not ditch them.

There is no problem playing music or working the phone wile the headphones are not plugged in.

Thanks in advance for any help.

your well within your warranty ether call Samsung are get a different phone no harm no foul

The AKG headphones have a mic and remote, right? Try another pair of mic'd headphones, sounds like a short in the remote is sending all sorts of commands to the phone.

I tried a new pair of headphones, no problems occurred. I even put in the AKG ones, waited for the problem to happen, then immediately switch to the new headphones (no problems) then back (problems).
