I received my invite for Inbox from Google. Downloaded and signed in. I'm finding it a bit confusing as it wants to label my incoming emails for me. A lot of emails don't end up in my Inbox but are located under another label. Makes it hard to find them. There seems to be a lot of extra steps to get to emails. Has anyone else used it yet?
In regular GMAIL is it possible do create subfolders in the folders I already have. IE: I have a folder for bills and I want to separate the emails in that folder by which company the email pertains to (Electric, Mortgage etc)

The idea behind Inbox is just that, it manages your labels for you and groups e-mails that it thinks they should be grouped and shows you the important stuff first. It's not for everyone though. I used it for a couple of days and ended up going back to GMail. I like the idea, but like you say, setting it up properly is a PITA.

As for GMail, you can't create folders. You can create labels, but you can't create SubLabels.

I'm a long time exchange user so all of this label stuff is just extra headaches for me. Sort by date, use the search function when i need to find something, done and done. I hated it when Outlook tried to go the route of lumping things into threads. Turned that categorization crap off immediately and went back to sort by date in my inbox. My mind just doesn't think that way. With a couple hundred emails a day coming through my inbox I can't be bothered trying to manage labels let alone diving into threads to see if there's anything new. New mail should float to the top, period.

I wonder if I should even try Inbox. Doesn't sound like it fits my style at all.

I concur it takes a while to figure out and configure Inbox, and I'm still learning it and training it. Its card visual style is engaging and sometimes frustrating, but I must say I'm intrigued and looking forward to its development.

Spook Droid thank you for the info about Gmail. I thought that might be the case but was hoping I was wrong.
As for Inbox, it's just not working for me. I don't like that it puts E mails in labels it thinks are right. I get new E mails and have to search for them and don't know if I find them all. I'll stick with regular Gmail for now.

I haven't used it enough to know if we can or not. I got frustrated and unistalled it. Regular GMAIL is much more user friendly and user controllable than Inbox in my opinion. For some folks this may be a perfect fit. I'm going to wait awhile, watch the forums and read on it before I try again.

I have a new question on Gmail. How do you delete emails that are in the Trash label ? Not the Imap Trash. I have the latest update do version 5.0, not rooted. The pull down menu no longer gives option to Empty Trash and SPAM label works the same. I can delete spam but it has to be done one by one. I have found no way to delete Trash.

It's a bug, while in the trash folder try rotating the tablet into portrait mode and clicking the menu icon on the upper right again. The empty trash option should appear.

WooHoo!!! Thank you muzzy996. It worked just as you said. Also worked with Spam. I like the new look of Gmail. Still won't go to Inbox, going to stay with Gmail.
