I'm still new at this android thing. I've had an iphone for the past year. The problem I'm having is this, when I delete an email from my Gmail app it still shows up when i log into gmail via my laptop.

I've let it sync and still nothing. When I used to delete an email on my iphone it would come off instantly.

Is there a setting I'm missing?? Is there another mail app I should use that will do that for me??

Are you using the HTC mail icon or did you download the "Gmail" app made by google from the Market? Should looking like a white/red mailbox called, "Gmail".

Just as a test, find an email, delete it on your phone, then go to "Settings", then "Accounts & Sync", then select your google acount that is the same as your gmail, then select "Sync Gmail". Wait until it syncs and shows the time as being current as updated.

Then go to your inbox on your PC and see if it deleted.

I think i found the problem. I didn't have my gmail account synced. i added it and set it to sync and it's working ok.

Thanks for the help. It's gonna be a little bit of a learning curve coming from apple.

No problem. I've had other Android devices but prior to the Rezound, I had the iphone 4, so I'm pretty familiar with the cross-over problems/tricks. If you need anymore help, let me know. Glad to help.

Thanks! Should I have the auto sync box checked?? I was told to uncheck it to save battery life.

Also one of the big things I did like about my iphone was the new notification center. I'd get popups for things like when its my turn in Words with Friends. Is there any way to set something like that up??

1. In Words with friends, you can check settings and be given a choice for the time to check for new notifications, but it will still go to the notification bar and no pop up.

2. I usually leave "auto-sync" off and then just manually refresh Gmail when I open the app. Just keep in mind, if you keep the sync OFF, you will need to manually hit the sync button to sync your changes in gmail, calender, etc.

Ok maybe I spoke too soon. So when i went into accounts and sync I noticed that there was a google account but not a gmail account. So I created a new account under gmail. I now have a google account to sync and a gmail account. Now when i get an email I get a notification but when I open it, eventhough it shows a gmail icon, it is opening the default mail app and not gmail.

I am friggin confused!
