Gmail app/Google app keep crashing[Andriod webview causing issues]

You are right, yes, it was Activity Launcher. I have that too and forgot that's what I used. It looks similar to the Shortcuts app. That's it.

Ok good , in the 3 dots after taping dev you can check for updates also

Also at the bottom you can check crashes and change settings in flags which I wouldn't mess with

The app is great. I spend an hour or two going through this creating shortcuts to settings in Nova Launcher using Activity Launcher only to see some of them are gone when I upgrade the device so I can go through that Android registry again

Yeah going through Nova Activities can be a pain sometimes and agree activity launcher great app .

You're updating through the Play Store, right? Try going to Settings>Apps, select Google Play Store, tap Storage, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Do the same for Download Manager -- you probably have to tap Menu>Show System to see it. Now try again.

Try clearing cache then force stop it

This issue is often caused by a buggy update to Android System WebView. To fix it, try this:

1. Go to Google Play Store and update Android System WebView and Google Chrome.
2. Restart your phone.
3. If the problem continues, temporarily uninstall updates for Android System WebView (Settings > Apps > Android System WebView > Uninstall updates).

After doing this, your Gmail and Google apps should stop crashing.
