Gmail app not downloading attachments.

I've been having this issue with the Gmail app where it won't complete downloading picture attachments or for that matter anything else. it always gets stuck on the download with progress bar but never completes the download.

I remember having this on the maxx HD but I was able to fix that by clearing gmail cache and I did the same thing on the DNA but it won't work.

Hmmm try installing this:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard&hl=en to properly clear your cache on that app or on your device it also helps to remove junk files without touching your info. Anyways, if that doesn't work 'uninstall the updates' or the app entirely and re-install. If that doesn't work download this:http://tinyurl.com/kg52x8t

Don't know if this is your issue with attachements, but here's my fix:

Go into gmail settings and then click the option that is your email address, at the bottom make sure it says download on any connection because by default it is set to wifi only.
It's weird because it's not listed under the general settings menu but rather clicking on your email address will bring you to it. Before i discovered that, i'd sit there for ages waiting for a pic to fully load so i can save it but it never did.

Hey this worked immediately! Yep, I had the wifi checked so I removed that and sure enough it downloaded my attachments. I forgot about that Gmail setting. The description of the setting itself is misleading too.

Yeah, I didn't quite get it myself and I was bursting my head for a minute. IDK why that just isn't included under the regular settings menu.

yep. probably because they figured business versus personal accounts where you may have a lot of large attachments.

And I didn't think it was settings since the same thing happened on my razr HD, but the fix on that phone was to clear Downloads cache.

Im also having this problem on my GS4 gmail app and on my stock hotmail app. My gmail attachment says "unable to load image" and my hotmail shows image for a split second and them turns into a squre with a lightnig & figure icon. Ive tried everything suggested by you guys but nothing.

I don't see those exact settings. I un-clicked anything that said only WiFi but it's still not working. I am beginning to hate this phone. Help me get the love back....
