Gmail attachments

The one thing I hate on the Epic is the Gmail app and how it deals with attachments or embedded pictures. On my pre, the ictures and attachments would automatically download with the email to view. Is there any way to get attachments and embedded pictures to automatically download? I've tried using K-9 anf the email program on the Epic and they work thed same way as well.

Its not just the epic. All android for now handles it that way. You could try the web version
