Does anyone have any idea why Gmail is sucking so much battery on my nexus 6p? Typically, it should be less than 1% . If so, do you have any ideas how to fix it?

Gmail battery drain!

A friend was having an issue with gmail, he said it was because he had am account syncing that had thousands and thousands of unread emails, and once he disconnected it the problem went away.

Hmm, I'll keep monitoring over the next few days, but nothing has really changed. It's kinda like all of a sudden it started sucking battery. This happened before and someone told me a sequence of things to do and I think I did that but the drain still seems to be happening.
