Hi,
EDIT...can now access gamil, but please advise how to sign in to my Microsoft Teams on my smartphone?..ENDofEDIT

I can access my gmail on my laptop, but when i try to do it on my smartphone, it wont let me in.
I type in the gmail address, then tap "next", but it does nothing...and there is a message which seems to suggest its not my computer so i should
try a private browser or something.
I am able to surf the web on my smartphone so i am surprised it wont let me into my gmail?

Must admit i have only just started using the smartphone.

Do you know how to access gmail on smartphone?

Welcome to Android Central! You're not using the Gmail app? That's the best way to access your Gmail.

If you're using your browser, then are you typing in "mail.google.com" in the URL bar?

Thanks, i just got on to it via the App.
Also , do you know how to get on Microsoft Teams on my smartphone?
I can sign in to it on my laptop but not on the smartphone.

Thanks, but i bought this smartphone 7 years ago and have just started using it...it doesnt seem to have the Teams App on it anywhere. Please advise how i may download it?
In fact, when i searched in google play..it gave the message "this app (Microsoft teams) wont work for your device"
Please could you advise any way around this?

It looks like the highest Android version that phone got is Android 9 (Pie). According to the Play Store page, Microsoft Teams requires at least Android 11.

I would recommend recycling that phone and getting a more current one, if you plan on doing anything remotely secure on it.

Thanks, i am thinking of setting the smartphone up as a mobile hotspot, then i can use my laptop with it ?
Ive already tried it and i can surf the internet from my mobile phone whilst on the laptop...so i guess thats the way?...dont know if a 7 yr old smartphone battery would last an hour long teams video call though?

You're right, the battery would be a significant concern. In addition, internet speed might also be a factor (both download speed and latency) -- have you tested that?

Thanks, do you think the battery is a concern because of its age\/...or is a 1 hour teams call just to much to expect for any smartphone battery like this?

The best way to tell is to see how long the battery lasts with normal usage. You can also try installing an app like Accubattery, which can tell you the overall battery health. Anything <80-85% is pretty old and deteriorated, and will lead to shorter battery life as well as the possibility of unexpectedly shutting down.

You need to make sure that your browser or Gmail app on your phone is updated, then try signing in in incognito mode or directly through the Gmail app. If that still doesn't work, restart your phone and check your Google Account security settings for any sign-in restrictions.
