Gmail Conversation View

Has anyone figured out how to turn it off. I have unchecked it in settings, deleted the account and reinstalled the account but it still shows conversation view.

According to this expert it is not possible. Although you can do it in the web browser.

I have a BIGGER problem(in my mind) with the Exchange accounts, my replies is always on top of the sender actual sentence. Our conversations is lumped together instead of having a break line with the original email date and email listing(like it used to be). Its driving me crazy.
