Gmail count indicator

Anyone else having issues with the count number on gmail notifications? Very often it says I have 23, 52, or even 95 messages and when I open it up I have just 3 or 4.

Any ideas?

i think it counts the messages in all your gmail folders like spam, deleted, drafts, etc...
not just inbox

No, I don't believe it is that because I habitually clear those things multiple times a day. A friend of mine with the same S9 plus has the same issue.

Yeah same issue for me .. But I noticed it just today only .. there were just 3-4 new emails and count was showing 12 new emails ..

I've also been having this problem, with multiple apps not just Gmail.

Sometimes mine is wacky. Most times it is accurate, though.

Use Nova Launcher with Tesla Unread Count. Doesn't require root and you can designate the unread count of a specific inbox. I have mine set only for priority inbox, not promotions or any others.
