"Gmail is using battery" notification?

My S7 occasionally displays "Gmail is using battery". I don't have any Gmail email accounts on the phone. Why does that message appear? Does it mean that something is wrong? Anything a can/should do about it?

Do you mean that you never use the Gmail app?

That message doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. If you look at your battery stats and see that Gmail is not using an inordinate amount of battery, then it's ok.

Correct.

Even if you don't use the Gmail app, it might still be trying to refresh data in the background. Try disabling it in Settings>Apps​.
