GMail not "fetching" mail.

i have no idea what i'm doing wrong but i'm running bamf 1.62 and i use gmail as my primary e-mail so i use the gmail app. however it does not fetch my mail unless i manually log in and refresh. can someone tell me if i have to set something up to have it "push" like blackberry where it's instantly on my phone? :-\

Just go into Menu > Settings > Accounts & sync > first click on the Gmail account, make sure Sync Gmail is set ON, then press the Sync Now button... then back to the Accounts & sync section and make sure Background data and Auto-sync is checked.
