Gmail not showing images

Is anyone else having that issue? I get the button to "show images" but i just get an outline of where the picture is with a ? in the middle of the box.. i logged into my gmail account on a computer and it shows them normally...

i also manually set up the yahoo email (different thread) and it similarly shows the box and doesnt actually draw any images.

wierd.
