Gmail not syncing to my phone automatically

The last few days I've noticed that I have to "pull down" on my inbox screen to retrieve my emails. I used to just get notified randomly when the emails came in. At first I thought it was just when my wifi was turned on (didn't have to be connected), now it's all the time. I'm on Verizon, version 13B. After that last system update, everything seemed fine, but I think there may have been a gmail update since that maybe is causing this?

Have you verified that the checkbox next to 'autosync' is enabled? If it is indeed checked, then i would UNCHECK it. Reboot the phone, then re-enable it. Hope that helps.

I realized this weekend that I am also no longer receiving Hangouts notifications. I have to open the conversation to see if I received a reply. WTF!

I did an lg backup this morning, did a factory reset, and then lg restore, and my notifications are working again. Now I've noticed that my lte speed is horrible. I'm getting <1 mbps speed! My friend sitting next to me with a Note 4 is getting 8mbps! Both are on Verizon.
