Gmail notification issue

When I get an email, I don't get my notification. All notifications are turned on both in the app, and in phone notifications. Any ideas?

This is a huge problem with Android Doze and there is no fix that I've found.

I use Aqua Mail Pro and receive Gmail notifications instantly, the Gmail app, fuggedaboutit

Plenty of other apps will also not received instant notifications like eBay, PayPal ETC.

I wonder if this is a Samsung issue rather than an Android issue, since I don't have a problem with that on my Pixel 3 XL. Try turning off Battery Optimization for the Gmail app in the system settings.

Yes please explain. I have the gmail notification issue as well.

Doze is off. Battery optimization is off. Sleeping app is off. Still delayed notifications or none at all.

If you have gotten the notifications to work properly and still continually working please share with us. I have spent months trying everything and anything to get them to work correctly. A lot of us have. I've even gone as far to reset the phone as new. Still having no luck getting it to work.

I literally went into Gmail app, settings then general settings and turned on all notification settings, then did the same with my Gmail account. Then went into the ultras notification settings and turned all of them on. So far I've received all notifications. One thing I did notice, I've got 2 android phones(the ultra, and ZTE AXON 10 pro), and a huawei tablet on Gmail. When I get a message, the ZTE and tablet get the message first and the ultra receives it about a minute later. I don't think it has anything to do with the devices as this happened when I had my LG phone instead of the ultra.
