Gmail notifications won't pop up!

Thought to start a different thread for this.
Switched form Apple, love the phone but find some things quite complicated.

I have the following issue. While using the phone and get a new email on Gmail I only hear the sound and don't get a popup to see who is emailing etc. All settings are one for Gmail.

Any idea why is it happening?

Check the Advanced Notification permissions for the GMail app. Maybe you restricted pop-ups or showing up on Lock Screen? I don't see an issue on mine (but I do turn off pop-ups, so I just get the notification card when I expand the notification bar or on the lockscreen.

I get notifications using Inbox. I disabled the Gmail app.

Thank you. Allready checked and eveyrhthing is on. Maybe the app doesn't support popups? I just get a sound when use the phone.

You mean the Inbox app by google? It confuses me big time unfortunately
