gmail notifications

I have a samsung galaxy s2 since the last update, I haven't been getting my gmail notifications....period. Before I would receive them as they came in and now nothing. I have to constantly go into the standard gmail app and hit refresh, very annoying. In some instances after hitting refresh, the display number of gmail emails will appear, but the actual emails themselves will not load! I've even downloaded the gmail notifier app and that doesn't help. I'm not receiving any of my gmails at all? I have a samsung galaxy s2 on the sprint network. Anyone having the same issue???.?

This happened with me also... Need to go into gmail. press menu. click on accounts. you should see your gmail accounts and at the bottom says add account. press menu and go to account settings.
make sure the auto-sync box has a check mark in it.
