Gmail notifications

Does anyone know where to find the settings for Gmail notifications? I will check the app icon and it will have the little number of new emails but I never got a notification that new mail has come in.

Are you talking about the Gmail app, or the stock Email app? If it's the Gmail app, open it, swipe in from the left, tap Settings>[your account], and make sure Notifications is checked on. You can modify the notification tone and vibration by tapping Inbox Sound & Vibrate.

If you open the app, touch the menu button (hamburger button on the top left) and select SETTINGS. There go to the account you want to change notification options for.

If those settings are set to active and having sound on/vibrate but are still missing from your phone, you might have disabled them in the system. To check that, either tap and hold on the GMail app icon and drag it to APP INFO or find it in the Application Manager. There you should see the SHOW NOTIFICATIONS option. Make sure that's checked.
