How can I hide the content of gmail emails on the lock screen? I still want to see that I recieved the email, just no content.

You should be able to control that by going into the Notification settings on your device, finding the GMail app, and for your account, tap the MAIL option; there should be an ON LOCKSCREEN section there, make sure it's set to HIDE CONTENT.

I have that option chosen but the email content is still shown

You can also go lock screen in settings and click notifications and hide content but it be for all you notification you'll only see the badge but not read until you unlock phone.

You can go into the main settings and set your Gmail notifications to only show the icon. The only way you'll see the message is if you click on the icon. Go to seetings-lockscreen-notification. Click show notification icons only

Do you have that active for ALL GMail notification types? There's an Inbox and Miscellaneous and a few others there, not sure which one is the actual notification...

it was something similar. Some mail came hidden and some didnt. That's what the issue was. Thank you all for your help!!!
