gmail problem after Pie

Anybody else having problems with gmail after the Pie update? It no longer pulls new email and notifies me unless I open the app and refresh my inbox.

Anybody else having problems with gmail after the Pie update? It no longer pulls new email and notifies me unless I open the app and refresh my inbox.

When I had this problem it was because my battery settings were set to optimized.
