gmail push not working

Gmail push notifications not working for new messages. Yes the box for notify once is unchecked in gmail settings. I do not use juice defender or any other battery management app.

I have tried the following with no luck:

Turning the phone off/on.
Clear data for Gmail under manage applications.
Force close gmail.
Turning sync off/back on.
Turning auto sync & background data off/on.
turning off droidwall. uninstalling droidwall.
Installing the latest version of gmail from market.

Rom is Harmonia 1.3. I'm on home wifi.

Any suggestions?

Thanks mmarz. I did some testing. If I set my wifi to never sleep, my emails showed up on the phone pretty much as soon as I sent them to myself from pc. When I turned off wifi, it didnt work. My 3G wasnt working. Got it back working now. So now I can set my wifi back to sleep when screen off and if I get a email it should still show up on the phone when I receive it.
