Gmail sync failure

Hi all. I have turned sync on but I get no notifications for my new emails at all. When I go to accounts and then google and then when I tap on sync, there's a sync failure.
I don't know what it is and I really font like it.
Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried signing out of your gmail account and repeating? Other thing to try is clearing the gmail apps cache in the app manager.

Also, in the Settings>Accounts-Google>[your Google account] screen, try tapping on Gmail to uncheck it, then tap on it again to check it again. See if the repeated attempt to sync works.
