I've got a galaxy nexus and a motrola xoom that im having syncing issues with my gmail account with.

I've cleared all the cache on both devices apps, and rest both, but i still can't get either gmail app to automatically update. I added another email address and this syncs fine on both devices. This leads me to think its an issue with my account?

Is there something i can check on my gmail account to get the sync working again?

Thanks
Mike

If you have the right account set in the Gmail app settings, it should be syncing. When you go on Gmail from a PC, there is mail in your inbox that's not going to your devices? If so, there could be a problem with that specific account. From what I've seen there are no settings in the web version of Gmail that have anything to do with syncing with your devices. Is the other address that works a Gmail address?

Thats what i cant understand. If i delete an email on the device, after about 30 seconds, it will delete from the website mailbox too. I still can't receive any on either device though. It comes to my mailbox, but to get it on either device i had to manually sync it.

The other email address i tried was gmail, both tried on the gmail app.

That's pretty strange. It has to be a problem with the pushing of new emails, since the deleting is syncing. It sounds like it's a specific account problem. Have you tried contacting Gmail support? Since a different Gmail address worked fine, it's definitely not a problem with your devices, IMO.

Yeah. I sent them an email but havent got a response yet. It seems strange the same account works on mail on my mac with no problem.

After a little more research, it seems the rest of my account (browser, contacts, etc) will sync when needed, it seems it is only the gmail push that doesn't work.

No, ive never exported my contacts onto a vcf from gmail. They are just stored on my account, but they all seem to sync fine.

I found things got too confusing between a phone, tablet, laptop running XP and desktop running Ubuntu. I just told Mail not to sync.

On the laptop and desktop, I get the mail through Thunderbird anyway.

I have also been having this problem for the past couple of days so you're not just imagining things. Either that or we're both crazy ;)
