Gmail sync problems

since yesterday i've been having problems with my Gmail sync. I recieve emails just fine and when I delete them or change anything on my computer everything syncs over to my phone. but when I delete on my phone or change labels, etc no changes get carried over. I've tried to manually sync after the changes and even after an hour the changes don't sync from my phone to the server basically.

in fact when I delete an email on my phone it deletes but the number of new messages remains the same.

btw I'm rooted and using the latest stable CM7 version.

Have you cleared Cache in Gmail?

Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> All Then select Gmail and clear cache.

Clearing Data may help too, but you will have to re-login to Gmail.

Same problem

I have the same problem. I "achive" messages that were in my inbox using my phone and then I log into Gmail on my computer and all the previously "archived" messages are still in my Inbox. Hummm?

Solution

Ok, I found a solution by uninstalling the Gmail app I restored from Titanium and reinstalled the Gmail app from the Market. All good now.

I've been having force close issues lately, but I also have restored Gmail app from backup. Going to uninstall and reinstall.
