Hey community, by any chance is anyone using the native mail app (not the gmail app) for their yahoo and gmail mail accounts? If so, does push notifications work on each one?

I am contemplating trying a different gmail app as this one is not reliable with push for some reason. Although I am not sure if it is the app itself or marshmallow 6.0.1. Happens on other phones like Nexus. Here's a link...

So your using the gmail app? Not the native samsung mail app?
I'm using google's gmail app for gmail which doesn't work well, and samsung mail app for exchange account which works well.
( mymail ) app works reliably all the time. I have an s6 and the stock email app would not push notifications reliably. Looks like they still haven't fixed it in the s7. I spent half a day trying email app after email app until I found one that worked for Gmail and yahoo and notifications work all the time. Ben using it for almost a year and works 100% of the time.
The name of the app is ( mymail ).
Samsung email app sucks.
I would receive yahoo mail sometime and Gmail would hardly ever give me notifications. And I wanted an email app that I could use all my email accounts with one app instead of using a different app for each email account.
( mymail )
Try it works great and you can put all email accounts in it and the notifications actually work unlike the crap Samsung one they put on the phone.
I have not tried gmail on Samsung mail app yet.
I tried mymail once and although it seemed to work well enough I abandoned it due to privacy concerns. I don't like using email services that keep my passwords and cache my emails on their own server. I only look for apps that direct connect to my provider.
