Hi guys,

I know someone once asked what stock email app will the 6P come with.

I got involved in that discussion and said I wouldn't want to use Gmail because my primary gmail acc gets a lot of spam.

I was told I could unsync that account, which I have done and it worked fine.

However, I am use to using Cloudmagic, and on this it receives push email. So I get updated of an email as soon as it arrives.

Gmail only sync's every 15mins. Which sucks, sometimes it takes even longer.

I'd like to try using the Gmail app as I know it works well with Google Now.

Anyone have any ideas how to make Gmail come through quicker as a notification?

Just set it to sync -- and it works. I get email as soon as it comes to my gmail app.

Decided to go back to cloudmagic until I find a solution

If I remember right, Gmail will not check IMAP email for a non-Gmail account. You have to set it up as POP3 which means interval polling (i.e. 15min, 30min,). I use Gmail for my personal email, but my work email is not a gmail account. I use Blue Mail for my work email and have it set up as IMAP, which is basically instant email. I really like it. For me, it is better since I turn off all the notifications on it when I do not want to be disturbed with work email when I'm not working, but allows me to keep my personal alerts on, and a completely separate inbox.
