This where that one article that someone posted makes sense. It had something to do with the way 4G phones get authenticated on the network. Strictly 3G phones won't have this issue because they are authenticated differently. This is why Verizon is trying to go to all LTE as quickly as possible.
I'm out here as well in St. Louis.
If you look at my OP, I had a Galaxy Nexus and a Droid Charge next to each other and my Nexus didn't have any data while the Charge was acting normally.
*Shrug, not sure why it seems like all the Nexus were affected by the outage. That's makes me wonder if the Nexus is handling data differently.
