After I used bixby it stays on whatever page I sent it to. Turn BT on, it stays in the BT menu. I tried the go back commands but they don't do anything.
Any idea how to get back to where I was without having to manually hit the back button?

Hi Bixby
"return to home page"
Hi Bixby open gallery
Hi Bixby return to home page.
Home page I think you need to set the command.
Hi Bixby
Turn on Television
Hi Bixby open Smart View
Hi Bixby open web browser
Hi Bixby,
Close Smart View and return to home page.
just examples
?????
I hope that helps
You have to set the Command.
If you have Samsung Bluetooth products or even Samsung products you can set commands to, Bixby will do its job.
And do its job well.
As Jango Fett would say
"Bixby, he'll do the job well".
my own little twist on it.
I love Bixby. Keep at it.
It doesn't necessarily need to be Sammy's products, but it makes it a little easier.

except I don't necessarily want to go to the home page. I want to go back to where I was. without having to use extra voice commands. Think it might be better to have it just turn it off/on then go back to what we were doing

That's easy,
Just set the command
I always work off my home screen so that's where I return to.
BIXBY has to be taught.
Have you tried setting commands for it is what you're trying to do.
I have it connected to lights and My other Sammy in the room..
But for me again, it's easier to either go back to previous screen or return back to Home screen. I choose my home screen.
Turning it off then back on, kind of defeats the purpose
Try playing around with setting some commands up.
Yes, it isn't perfect, I almost disabled it, until I figured out the Commands Bixby will take. Still isn't better than Google Assistant, but I'm using it more than ever. And at the rate I'm going, Bixby will be running everything hands free.
