Ok, instead of making a couple threads, one for my wife and one for myself, I figured I'd do it all in this thread.
I'm thinking about picking up an S7 edge to replace my Note 5. Driving factors, supposedly significant camera improvements (though some reviews say the camera is worse) due to faster aperture speed. Slightly better battery. Better processor.
The better camera, if for real, is a big selling point with two kids and a Disney trip upcoming, it means I won't necessarily have to use the SLR for every shot, though I'll still have it around much of the time.
I would consider a note 7 but I rarely use the Spen and don't care about the Iris scanning, finally, I see no real benefits to going to USB-C from micro USB especially since I'd have to buy all new adapters and my wife's phone would still be micro USB.
For the wife, she has an s6, which frankly has unbelievably bad battery life. She is a heavy user but that POS rarely comes off the charger. She uses the camera constantly with the kiddos and I think having a better camera would be a significant benefit to her as well. She would be going to the S7, not the edge, I'm 6'6 have big hands, love big phones. She's 5'4 and the S6 is about as big as she can effectively tolerate.
I've read mixed things on the camera, particularly that it falls apart even with minimal cropping, which is odd considering the sensor is supposed to be much better.
Finally, I want to try to find a sale/good deal on these phones, any ideas when we typically see them go on sale in the fall? Would I really miss the note going with the Edge? Would the edge get on my nerves with the "edge" of the phone?
