GO Launcher EX and battery consumption

i decided to give GO Launcher EX a whirl since Sense has been driving me bonkers and HTC isnt releasing a fix. i installed it yesterday and spent a while customizing it. works much better than Sense, and no stupid reboots. anyways, i noticed that my battery only lasted about 10 hours yesterday, versus the usual 14ish (extended battery). today, my battery is down 30% after 4 1/2 hours, which is a bit more drain than with Sense as well.

i wonder if this is due to my fiddling around with the phone a bit more than usual, or if GO Launcher uses more battery? or is Sense still running in the background? or am i just nuts? lol.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Chances are if you haven't stopped and frozen the HTC sense it can be running along with launcher but at a minimal amount. Not like having it always running, but the data running in the background so you can switch it back easily, i noticed that when i experimented with different launchers before rooting my phone. also playing with it more will make it drain faster then usual thats a given. I don't believe the launcher would suck up much of any extra power then sense was, but it would depend on what you have starting up and how much. You could also have extra apps running in the background now as well.

Thanks for the info. How do I go about closing out Sense completely?
