Go SMS Pro question

Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie who just upgraded to the Thunderbolt after 4 years of Blackberry.

I'm loving this phone but had a question about Go SMS Pro.

When I get a text message from someone who has AT&T, the notice comes in through GO SMS and also in Messages.

Is there a way to fix this?

Disable the message notifications in the stock message app. That should take care of it.

And if you're rooted, you can actually un-install the stock messaging app completely, GO SMS will retreive text and mms messages on its own.

I've always been rooted and it never even occurred to me to freeze stock message app even though I also use go sms pro. What's the point?

Yeah, disabling he stock one should take care of it.

I also have Handcent installed because sometimes (not often) GoSMS Pro doesn't display MMS messages that well.

I remember you came close once!
Yes. :) I think I said something like maybe ICS would sway me. But now that the stock TBolt is so good, I'm not so sure about that any more. Having ICS available as a third party ROM would be nice. But if they make it available via an official VZW/HTC OTA, we'll all have to do it, like it or not. Not sure I'm into that any more.

Strange, I couldn't get Handcent to work properly with MMS to save my life - it would show that a picture needed to be downloaded, but when I selected the download button it would always fail. I'd end up having to open the stock messaging app to view it. I finally got sick and tired of that and just uninstalled it and went back to the stock app.

I know this isn't an app forum, but why does Go SMS not show vcard attachments?
How do we make that work?
