Going from BB Bold 9650 to Incredible...

Is there anyway for me, using my laptop, to put all of my contacts on my new Incredible? I was going to go for the Droid X but my buddy has both and said that the Incredible was smoother and snappier. I figured what the hay, the Incredible was free

did you have the back-up assistant on your blackberry? if so they should have synced for you

You can use the HTC Sync that is preinstalled on your phone or find a download link to HTC Sync 3.0
Easiest way is to go into outlook and file and import / export then click export to file, then click comma seperated file windows,make sure contacts is highlighted, choose your file name and save! then go into gmail account on your pc and go into settings and over to account and import then very first option is import mail and contacts. Just tell it your transferring a csv file and find the file and there they are! once your android syncs you will have them! Hope this helps

I just wanted to drop this in there! I carried bb for years and had tons of them while working at a vzw store. The first moto droid dropped there when i was resigning from my position. So i continued to carry my bb's and around 3 months ago i switched to my incredible and have never looked back not even once! Welcome to the world of android! These forums have everything that you could ever want to do with your device and if its not been discussed these forums are loaded with courteous and intelligent people. Just make sure you search the forums b4 you ask a ? and if its not there ask away you will get the info your searching for the people around here are great!!! And congratulations you will love you DInc (droid incredible)

When I made the switch from BB to Android I just ran GoogleSync from my BB (free from AppWorld) and sync'd my contacts and calendar to my Google account then as soon as I got my Incredible and set up my Gmail it automatically put all contacts and calendar entries onto my Incredible

This is by far the easiest solution. My wife tried the VZW backup assist and it screwed up at least half of her 240 some contacts. I went the same route as Jayhawkfan suggests and it worked like a charm, no hitches...

If you use gmail, use Google Sync like jayhawkfan18 suggested to upload your BB contacts to gmail. When you set up your Incredible, it will pull them all down automatically.

If you are not using gmail, I would really consider it. The integration just makes your life easier. You'll probably do 80% of your emailing from the phone, so if you don't like gmails web interface, you don't need to look at it (My wife has a problem with Gmail using labels instead of folders. I don't understand her problem, but to each their own).

Thank you! I downloaded the google sync to my bold. My Incredible will be here tomorrow. Hopefully I can do this and not mess it up! I hope that it is easy to activate the new phone from wirefly. They said in an email not to call verizon or activate myself.

Droid Incredible now or wait for the HD?

I am contemplating the move from the Bold 9650 to the Droid Incredible for my yearly upgrade. Any suggestions if I should do it now or wait for the HD? I would hate to get this now and feel like it is outdated when the HD comes out. Thanks.

I went from a blackberry storm and ill never go back to anything but Android the beat OS imo. Plus everyone here is so awesome welcome to the forums

Another recommendation for Google Sync, it's not perfect but it works. When I changed from the Palm Pre to the DInc, it transferred my contacts with no effort.

My only complaint is that Google Contacts likes to link similar contacts together. But it's easy to unlink them.

Congrats I came from BB too. Just a week on my Incredible and I am loving it.
