My girlfriend and I have had the Droid. We've decided to upgrade to the Droid X, they're already ordered and we're just waiting for shipment. We didn't use the physical keyboard all that often so the Droid 2 wasn't that appealing. Anyone here upgrade from the Droid to the Droid X? Any problems? Any complaints? Any regrets?

I did. I was afraid of using the touch screen keyboard since I loved my physical keyboard. But I love this thing. Swype keyboard on it is so awesome. The screen size compared to my Droid its just ridiculous. My wife's Droid looks tiny to me now.

I had the Droid for a few weeks then returned it for the X. I was pretty impressed with both phones; the UI on the Droid was much better in my opinion however. Does the Droid have the gorilla glass too? I never had a case, screen protector, anything and put it with keys and all - never got one scratch.

What about software? I heard Motoblur can be a resource hog. Of course it's only a matter of time before the bootloader is cracked and customer roms (without Blur) can be installed.

I had the D1 for about six months and Verizon let me get the X for $200 without contract.

No regrets here at all. Whether or not the D1 is hacked, it is not on the level of the X. The hardware and specs on the X are so much better. And the X doesn't lag like the D1. After using the 4.3 inch screen on the X, you might find it hard to go back to something smaller.

Don't hold your breath for custom ROMs. If you don't like the UI on the X, download a different launcher. I use LauncherPro and my X feels like it's running Sense.
