Going to iPhone6?

For those of you using the new iPhone 67's size as a selling point: have you considered the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact? If you're after a smaller flagship phone that's not Apple, that one looks like the phone to beat.

Personally, while I think iPhones are perfectly fine devices, I would never use one myself. My wife has the 5 and likes it (not loves, just likes). I've messed with it, and I just can't get around the sheer lack of customization and how iOS works in general. Is it smooth? Yes. Fast? Yes. Slick? Yes. Does it look like every other iPhone out there? Yes.

$649 for a reverse engineered Nexus 4? No way. I'ts all about the 2nd gen moto x

People make way too big a deal about that. Yes, the Apple proc has 'only' dual cores, but don't let that fool you into thinking it only has half the power. That A8 processor is still a pretty powerful one and has as much grunt as the current SD SOCs. And with iOS, the fact that it has only 1G of RAM is also a bit of a nonstarter since iOS doesn't multitask the same way (or as much) as Android. iOS is a lot more restrictive as far as who can run in the background and for how long whereas Android allows apps more leeway (like on a desktop). It's not like Apple has some magic memory pixie dust that it sprinkles on their phones and applications use less memory... they don't... they just keep things pretty locked down (this is Apple, remember).

Hardware-wise, the iPhone 6 is a pretty impressive phone so that's not really the place to take shots.... it's what's running on that hardware and the company that develops it where the real problems lie. But for HW, the only place where they completely whiffed is the power plant. I think they got WAAAAAY to cute with the size.... they could have slapped a much larger battery in that thing without making it that much thicker. Once deep-dive reviews come rolling in, I bet you you'll see plenty of comments like "I wish the battery would last longer", etc...

Oh, I know. The A7 is about on par with a SD801. We'll see how the A8 compares to the 805, but I think it'll fall short.

Apple faithful tout carrier free and continued iOS updates for previous models as an advantage and then strips features away from those updates for previous models.

I was about 2 clicks from Jump! to the new iPhone 6 Plus with 64GB till i realized it would be $200 dollars With $99 downpayment , Sales Tax and then $25 to ship it over night because i dont want to wait till the 26th to get it lol. I seriously considering getting it because Qualcomms DAC is Crap so Sound Quality is better on iPhone and Better app support. DAC is Digital to Analog converter by the way. Seriously considering the iPhone 6 Plus or Note 4. Hopefully The Note 4 is released soon so i can decide.

To answer your question, I point to your next sentence. You're a Mac user. iTunes on Windows is an abomination. Horribly slow, laggy and an all around mess. I can only assume that Apple puts the absolute minimum into the Windows version of the client and does so out of contempt for the competing platform on which is runs. My money is on Apple using the "million monkeys" development process.

Some of the words I dread hearing most are "Those new songs aren't showing up on my iPod. Can you take a look?".

Well, there's your problem...you're a Windows user. Yuck :)

I'm thinking about trying it now because they're finally offering a big enough screen, in fact the the perfect size... I had an M7 now i have an M8... I really miss 4.7in. There is no up to date flagship on Android..
The Nexus 5 is completely up to date, and has the fastest UI of any Flagship phone.

But making the switch I'm high concerned... What will i miss, how long before I'm back on my favorite OS? I download tons of music via torrents to my Androids.. Thats my biggest concern, relying on getting to Cpu to update my music...
I don't get why this is an issue...on Android you can just copy it to the cloud or to a PC. On Apple you can upload it to iTunes.

Are you considering trying the new iPhone 6, what are your concerns and or reasons?
My first question to anyone switching would be: What is on the iPhone that makes you want to switch? I mean what specifically?

Most on AC are quick to bash Apple and love Android
The main reason we bash Apple is for their lack of functionality...they charge more for a phone that does less. The Nexus 5 is half the price of the iPhone 5S, and still outperforms it, even with a larger display. That should not be happening.

Lol ... The Nexus 5 isn't "Faster" then iOS but just as Fast.... And performance is subjective to what you think is good

I'll trust my own experiences over any video
You are welcome to. People can watch those videos and draw their own conclusions as well.

The idea that Apple is faster than Android is a myth that needed to be debunked. People are drawing conclusions based on 2011 Android phones...thats not Android anymore.

How can Apple be faster than Android? One is an OS and the other is a company :p

I'd say that in comparison to the android phones with skins on them (like good ol laggy touchwiz) definitely
Not too sure about stock android as I've never had a phone run that
