Somebody please make an app that uses the gyro and accelerometer to tell me why I suck at golf and how to fix it! Has anybody heard of such a thing on these devices?

Well, for a brief moment you had my attention. And I agree, an app of some kind would be nice. I know my scorecard would thank me.

This already exists largely in the GolfSense swing analyzer for $129.99. It pairs with your Android tablet or phone and clips to your golf glove. Then it gives a swing chart and metrics.

try the swingbyte 2. it connects to the shaft of your golf club, and when using a tablet, lets you do side by side video and wireframe comparison of your swing. you can also rotate the wire frame rendering in 3d. can also be used for putting best product of its type out there imho. Ping has a product just for putting where you actually mount your phone to the putter for stroke analysis, and comparison to professional players putting strokes.

So having an app that could do that on an Android Wear watch that costs 60 bucks more but can do a ton more as well, really makes sense :)

Found this post and thought I'd ressurect it, just in case things have changed in the past year....

What I'm really interested in is an app that does the following from an Android Wear device:

  1. Keeps my golf score
  2. Tracks which club I used on each shot
  3. Tracks how far the shot travelled
  4. Accounts for penalty strokes, fairways hit, sand shots, etc.
  5. Displays a bird's eye view of the hole
  6. Displays distance to the hole & other hazzards
  7. Analyzes my swing (E.g. speed, angle, etc.)
  8. Has a web interface to display statistics on everything mentioned above

Anyone invent this yet?? :-[

Swing speed should be easy enough, for a basic App. I'd be happy with swing speed, score tracking and shot GPS/yardage.

This should be very easy to make as the WII had that feature from the beginning. And there should be no physics difference between a device attached to a glove and a wrist watch.
All the sensors needed are already in those devices, I am actually surprised no one had done it yet.

I'm pretty sure GolfShot has a lot of features available for Android Wear. Maybe check it out?

Yes. I also agree that if we have a watch app for golf would be great. Just to score the score card for each hole would be great may be show details about the par, distance and hcp and so on. I know there are lots app but I also not found a watch app.
