Gone to Edge this morning

So I got up this morning and I have and "E" in my notification bar where I normally have an "H+". I know the E is for Edge, but I was just wondering if anyone knows why it does this. It's done it a few times before but has so far always gone back before too long. Curious.

That happens to me a lot, but usually when I'm in a basement or something like that. I don't know how or why the Edge signal is stronger. Also, it could be a tower issue. Too much traffic, equipment problems, etc. I remember a while back the tower closest to my house went down for 3 days. I even called AT&T to verify. I had almost no signal when it's usually very good.

Mine is Edge too. Weird. I normally have H+ at my desk at work.

Didn't you root your device?

Sorry If I am wrong in assuming. But if you did, be sure to check with the ROM's Dev and see the recommended radio you need to install. Sometimes stock radios interfere with the ROM and can cause issues like that.

No, I haven't rooted yet. I've had jailbroken iPhones for my last 3 devices. The things I used to jailbreak for (notifications bar, customizable layout, etc.), Android already does. I really liked my iPhones a lot. I really disliked Apple just as much. I was actually just waiting for Android's OS to catch up to being something comparable to iOS, which 2.2 seemed to fit the bill and here I am. Its all downhill from here.

Not to say that I won't root at some point, but I'm still learning what I can do now. So far, I'm not sure what I would gain from it. I like sense, and I could use a launcher if I didn't. Fully customizable layout. Got HSUPA. Got sideloading. What else would i need?
