Goo manager beta?

OK tried downloading from site since the market says not compatible with phone but keep getting parse error.

I downloaded 2.1.1 from the site using wget and installed with a file manager. Looks pretty nice, but only has Optimus V ROMs listed in the compatible ROMs list. Guessing that we just need to wait for our devs to mod build.props and upload ROMs...

HydroROM is available if you choose Browse all files->devs->TeamHydro. The build.prop is correct though I'm unsure as to why it's not on the list of "compatible" ROMs.

Thanks, I see that now. This could be really great if it were to pull them into the 'compatible' section and did something to note the radio compatibility. If not, I see it becoming a boon to users just installing whatever sounds cool on their device. Still liking it though.

I do see HydroROM and COT if I go about it the manual way, as Pkt_Lnt suggested. I wonder if it is not something in my current ROM, using thekraven's CM7 3.7d. It has the device as LG-LS670 though.

My take is that Goo.im, ORS / OSS, build prop values for all this auto magic is still very much a WIP. Fun to watch it unfold and blossom.

It's extremely odd that it won't install on your device.

EDIT: Oh your running Reborn.. GooManager requires at least GB to install, says on the market page. Requires Android: 2.3 and up.

Sorry :(

Weird, I got it from the Play store using thekraven CM7, CAI, and quattrimus. Did you download to a computer from their site, transfer to your sd card, and install?

While you're on Reborn, can you flash the GB edition of HydroKernel and tell me if it breaks anything?

It doesn't. I tried it weeks ago, ran it for three days. I keep it as my nand to do prl updates about once a month. It works fine.

Interesting. So Gingerbread kernels work on Froyo but Froyo kernels don't work on Gingerbread...

I actually discovered this while patching amend support to CWMT recovery.

That's because Ginger kernels have no souls. :D

Does this 2.3 kernel w/ 2.2 ROM combination work with the Goo Manager? That's something that steps outside of Google's box of stock reference points in Play Store. How about with the sideload method?

Unfortunately no. GooManager simply will not install on a Froyo-based ROM regardless of kernel.
