Good dilemma, But need advice

I edited my post to show that i didn't mean that i'm an expert at all. Just enough to know that i like to flash and fiddle with my phone a lot lol.

...as most of us do here on AC or " other ". No worries mate.

I read back though the OP. If I had to decide right now, with the conversation DM, myself, and everyone else, i would go Gnex...

wow that was hard to type

lol  I appreciate the input. And your right, I'm leaning hard towards the GN as well after this discussion. And like you said if i don't like it then i can always exchange it for something else. I do actually use my phone to call quite a bit (my parents don't do a lot of texting) so I'm hesitant about the reception. But, if DM is saying i can remedy a lot of that with the new radios then I'm more than likely going to give the GN the first shot.

Thanks again to DM and PD and everyone else that helped with this discussion..... I'll update the OP tomorrow after I've made the purchase.

No worries! Gotta find what you like; if it doesn't work out, trade it. :-)

Good luck!

I just installed the toolkit and just waiting for my phone to fully charge. Your guide is definitely coming in handy :) Thanks!

If you're on 4.0.4, you need to replace the SU.zip with the new one. Check out a bunch of the threads in the development forum.

(Essentially, the old SU can't root the new Android version, so you replace it with the new one that can).

Lol yeah my stomach dropped when Rom manager failed to reflash CWM so first thing i did was check the forums. I just went ahead and reflashed 4.0.2 and did it that way since i really don't have any data to loose. Currently making my first Backup. Then its on to decide what i wanna flash first :)

Before you know it you'll be on TWRP recovery...all the cool kids are on it ;).

My first rom was AOKP. Of course, I've flashed a boatload since then, but AOKP has stuck with me b/c it is, for all intents and purposes, the standard in the dev world right now.

Back in the ye olde days of January, AOKP and Gummy were more or less neck and neck. For some reason, AOKP pulled ahead and never looked back, and now it's on a boatload of phones and even major players like CM are playing catch up.

So yeah, that's a roundabout way of saying you should flash AOKP. Or Patient Zero M3 ;).

Since you haven't steered me wrong so far, I'll give it a shot. :)

The beauty about it is if you don't like it there are only 80 other alternatives lol

I have CM9 on my Touchpad and i like it a lot as well. I just flashed AOKP on my GN and I think i might like it just a tad bit better than CM9. Either way you cant go wrong. Both seem to be stable and have a ton of support.
