Welcome to the AC forums from the other side of the pond!

For errors like the one you're seeing it's usually best if you clear an app's cache/data. Find the Google app on your phone, then long-press it. There you'll see an "App Info" option. Go in there, and select Storage. There, you can try to clear Cache first. If that doesn't work, try clearing data (but this may ask you to re-login to your Google account and definitely re-set preferences for the Google app). Hope it helps!

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Introductions forum to the Galaxy A Series forum, since the primary reason for your post was the question about your phone.

Welcome to AC!
Definitely try what spook mentioned and force stop the app , the one that is responsible for Google assistant is the Google app

Ok so go to the Google app then long press it >tap info> upper right corner tap the 3 dots and uninstall the update and see if the previous version works
