Good Keyboard for M8

Yes, but it's not official.
There are apps in the Play Store that have the L theme though.

I know about the app. I thought you meant that there was an Android L theme in the official Google Keyboard app :)

I to have tried them all and I always go back to google keyboard. The swipe works the best and 95% of the time works great without lag. But most of all the word prediction is easily by far the best, hands down!

Oh, first time i see that someone want to replace HTC keyboard, hehe...Before i tried everything, and for me standard htc input keyboard is the best.

You know, I've strangely preferred the Htc stock keyboard, however I am using Swiftkey. Its prediction is fantastic, and it's design is outstanding. The prediction on any keyboard, gets better the more you use it. You might notice in all of these replies, most everyone says how they always go back to this keyboard, or that keyboard. Well... It's true. Just use SwiftKey, you'll be glad you did.
Oh, and I just thought I'd throw this out there, I absolutely hate the Google keyboard. I've heard awesome things everywhere, but when I tried it, I was surprised. It was nothing more than a plain white keyboard, that looked as good as my Android phone in 2009. Boring, dull, and highly limited functionality. Yay, a keyboard that looks outdated, and still remembers how to correct my bad spelling. Neat!

Anyone else fins Swiftkey quite slow? I do like the prediction of it but find it slow to open and close and the emoji may when scrolling through. Surprised its not better on the m8 as everything else runs so well.

Using the google keyboard at the mo but do miss Swiftkey prediction

I like Swype a lot. I've tried Google's, the HTC keyboard, and SwiftKey. I think Swype is more forgiving with sloppy swiping than all of them, especially as you use it more. And it doesn't lag in my experience. I love the option to quickly input a "?" Or "!" by swiping from the key to the space bar. There's also an Xposed module that can swap the Dragon Voice input for Google's.

I like the way Swype handle punctuation, I still find myself trying to do that on occasion. But I found their lack of options on layouts for the keyboard annoying. I couldn't get it set to match the layout I was used to, which was from an earlier version of Swype!

I've used fleksy on and off for ages and am on the beta program. There are things about it I love but its just quite there... Its improved loads though from where it was so if they keep progressing at the same rate then it could be my go to keyboard in the future. Just miss swipe for the occasions I'm tapping away one handed but that'll be difficult to implement with the other gestures

I normally use SwiftKey but I just tried the HTC keyboard for the first time and it's really not that bad. It's corrections and predictions are almost as good as SwiftKey but it's not as laggy. Oh and I've also just tried Kii. It's very snappy and accurate but it looks ugly as he'll in any theme and some of the buttons are too small.

Another vote for Swiftkey. I've tried most of the biggies...Fleksy, Kii, Google, Android L, Swype, HTC Sense, and others, but I keep coming back to Swiftkey. I have no issues with lag, it's feature rich without feeling bloated, and its prediction engine is the best I've found. Plus, it now has Emoji built in. Perfect for me...5 stars easily.

I'm using the standard HTC Sense Input QWERTY keyboard, but I'm trying to find a keyboard that includes forward and backward keys to navigate backward and forward on text previously typed in the typing area (instead of trying to lucky tap the right area of a sentence/word to edit it). Any recommended keyboards with those keys?

SwiftKey has movement keys (and separate number keys) as an option setting. And I believe that Swype also has movement keys as an option.

I just the Google Keyboard. Particularly the new L release Google Keyboard.

I've always felt Swiftkey was too slow for me. Across multiple devices, when I speed type, it's as if the keyboard can keep up with my typing. Or at least the Google Keyboard is better at recognising at what I'm trying to type.

I was a fan of Swype, but I've found it lagging a lot lately. I'm now trying SwiftKey, but in a few minutes of use, I'm already not liking it. I love the neon theme and it's quick, but having issues with some functionality. I miss being able to swipe above the keyboard to capitalize a word, preferred punctuation handling of Swype, and i can't seem to turn word prediction off with SwiftKey (I'm probably the only one in the world that doesn't like predictions) . With swype, I could swipe a word and immediately have a lot of selection options. On SwiftKey, I have to backspace to get the previous word's selections and then it's only three options.

And I could also write "it's" in one swipe. With SwiftKey, it's a four step process. I'm trying to get used to it, but doubt I'll stick with it.

When using flow in Swiftkey it always shows u 3 next word predictions and u have to back space to see the alternative swipe suggestions. Unfortunately there is no way to change this which is a shame but then if using its predictions then seeing them there straight away can be habdy.

I've cone to the conclusion the perfect keyboard doesn't exist yet (for me). Google still my most used at the moment which is strange because I dropped it on my nexus 5 but seem to prefer it on my m8

I went back and installed the swift keyboard, and what ever update they just did, this thing runs like a Ferrari on the Autobahn! I also take back what I said about tapping and swiping feature. It turns out you can do it quite smoothly on swift keyboard, and the prediction has improved, if that's even possible. Looks like I'm gonna have to switch back using swift keyboard. However, I did notice that swift keyboard uses the cloud as the storage method, which means that it's constantly communicate and syncing with the cloud storage. That may explain why swift keyboard drains the battery and takes up the RAM.
