Good Launcher app or clock widget

Like just about everyone, I hate the At a Glance area taking up real estate at the top of the home screen! With the March 2 2023 update somehow it seems a little bigger vertically, and my Transparent Clock and Weather widget now has the rows of type lying all over each other. (I use a 4x1 version and it always fit till today.)

So - is there a nice clock widget that fits in a 4x1 space?

Failing that, what is the best launcher to try if you have never used one before and just want to get rid of that damn At a Glance?
