"Good working condition" trade in?

What constitutes a phone being in good working condition? I have an M8 with a charging issue that I do know is a hardware problem. I've had the USB port replaced, but that didn't fix it. It has about 50% power on the battery right now, which would be enough to backup and wipe the phone with a little left over.

I got the phone with an Edge agreement and I am eligible for an early upgrade with a trade in. As much as I love the performance of the M8, this is the second time I've had an issue with the port (the first being a warrantied exchange). So I'm wondering if I should just cut my losses and move on. Would my phone be ok for trading in? It works great running off the battery, so there wouldn't be any indication of a problem unless they plug it in.

My guess it that it would be fine as long as it boots up normally and there is no glaring physical damage.

Just have the battery fully charged so it turns on when they get it you should be fine.
