Goodbye Android (nexus 5) hello iPhone

Some might say that is exactly what you did when you started this thread. It can be said that since you brought up in your original post how "smooth" the experience with iOS is, one's experience that was rocky would seem to be relevant.

These kinds of threads inevitably turn into Apple vs. Google and/or iOS vs Android back-and-forths. That is entirely predictable.

Sorry for making it sound like that, it wasn't my intention at all.

Perhaps that is allthere is to it. Flexibility does add a layer of complexity that may not be of any value to those who are happy with the way a manufacturer does things. But I have always found the options and complexity of android relatively hidden if you cared not to exploit it.

Like others have mentioned, my wife was less than thrilled with the iOS 7 change.
people who like simple, hate change.

You know im surprised that no ones found a way to run iOS on a android phone. I mean you can run windows OS on a mac.

That would require a ton of work. Different code, processor types, it would be a nightmare. apple uses Darwin while android runs off of the Linux kernel. Even if it did work the possibility of it running well isn't great

One other thing I notice about myself and my views towards ios versus android. I have very little interest in the IOS forums. I just dont find much to talk about. I use my apple devices. They work. But they are not much fun and little to get excited about. They just do the job. They are tools...appliances. Nothing wrong with that.

Android, however, seems to get my creative juices flowing. Finding creative uses for old android phones and tablets is addictive and a lot of fun to read about.

Good luck to you. IPhone is a great phone too, it's just personal choice. Let us know how you like it.

Yes, but how does it add relevance to this thread? He's just rambling on about his apple experience trying to make them look bad. I wouldn't care if it had a reason, but it doesn't. He's just trying to stir up a war citing issues. I can do the same with android.

You started a thread criticizing your experiences with Android on a Nexus 5 board that you claimed wasn't as good as your wonderful Apple products. This thread came across just as you posted that you don't like Android or Nexus 5 that you think are inferior to your Apple products and environments that you are 100% loyal to. All you proved you can't stand anyone that doesn't love and praise Apple products that I trashed with my experiences on how Apple ripped me off on replacement iPhones and broke my Windows PC DVD drive and Microphone over and over. Always remember the day I took my HP laptop into a Apple Store trying to get a solution why it disabled my DVD and Microphone that I had to used to update the i4 and they told me the solutions was easy get rid of that HP laptop and buy a Mac Computer then acted like I was stupid to own a Windows product to start with. Apple = Arrogant...

My experiences with the evil fruit company could fill a ocean that I will never forget how I was mistreated by Apples' arrogant customer services and overpriced junk products that broke too much. Yes, I like my Nexus 5 that I could buy two for the cost of just one of the overpriced bling bling i5s that doesn't have near the important features on my Nexus 5.

Moderators please close this thread. It has turned into a flame war. This isn't how I wanted this thread to go

Once the iOS 7 jailbreak comes out, there will be more to talk about. Other than that, it is just talk about apps and accessories.

Windows Phone, anyone?

Just sayin'

For me, it's never been a consideration. It's either Android or iPhone. I liked the Nexus 4 but it's annoying 40% battery drain in 20 minutes was so annoying and then the phone somehow getting around the pattern unlock in my pocket and doing all kinds of things on it's own while in there and draining the battery made me stop using it. I was excited when the Nexus 5 came out and then quickly faded after I saw YouTube reviews. I decided to skip it and buy an iPhone 5s. It was the only phone that interested me I've had every iPhone since the original except for the iPhone 5, I got the Nexus 4 instead.

I never liked using the passcode unlock on any phone, that's why the 5S interests me so much, I can unlock it with my fingerprints. Best thing ever. I was waiting for something like this after the annoying Nexus 4 doing things in my pocket.

I'll wait and see what next years Nexus is like.

I've never known anyone who had a Windows phone. It's either iPhones or Androids. Windows phone doesn't exist.

I agree. But it did serve one purpose.... It exposed all the trolls for who they are.

These threads always go this way. IMO they are troll threads from the beginning. A cursory look at the forums would have showed this.

My experience is Apple is junk and ripped me off on every replacement that was so low quality they would only give it a 30 warranty for $150 a pop.

I will have to agree with you here. It's the experience that a single individual has with a product that makes up their mind about it. Millions upon millions of people love the iPhone, but that doesn't mean this individual has to.

To the op, hope you have no regrets:)

I think enough has been said here.. Time to find something else to do.
