I had the HTC One for about a month. Might go back to it in the future. But the things I didn't like were A. Notification light ( can't switch colors and never blinks when charging to let me know I have a message) B. No matter what I tried HTC sync, Sync manager etc. I couldn't get my music, pictures on my phone. I loved Zoe,great battery life, build quality. I liked Blinkfeed better than Flipboard but it just needs more content, customization.

Sure, I couldn't care less. Just so you know I can put my musics and photos on the phone easily.

So basically you left because of a light and you couldn't figure out basic technology. Ok, the led while charging thing I understand, but the rest of it is pretty pathetic.

I want to give you advice about the music but I think if you can't figure out drag and drop by now nothing I say will help. Best of luck wherever you go.

I came from having iPhones since 2007 and got my music and pics on mine without a problem. My kids could've probably done that if I asked them to. Pretty basic.

wow such hate. I don't understand why people have to be so nasty. But that's ignorance for ya.

I have never heard anything good about the sync programs, but I never understood why anyone would use them. Drag and drop seems much easier if you want to transfer stuff -or using dropbox, etc.

Regarding notification lights - I guess I don't understand the obsession with this. My last phone didn't have any notifcation lights, so maybe I am just used to it, but my phone is basically with me all the time. If I get a call/email/calendar reminder, I hear it. If I am away from my phone for a while, I turn it on and check. That is just me though.

No hate, you said "nothing" you tried got music and photo files onto the phone. Now either the phone is defective and the drive is not visible to computers or you have not tried even simple solutions. It's really as easy as plugging the phone into a computer, maybe getting drivers, and dragging the files onto a folder in the phone. There are better options that have more features. So no hate, just being honest when I say I can't help if you don't know how to do simple things like drag and drop.

When you made this thread what exactly were you expecting from the responses? "Oh yea totally understand you man, we should all leave our htc phones because we don't know how to put music on it." It seems like the only ignorant one in this situation was you when you made this thread.

ignorance is not knowing how to get music and photos onto a device. There are a variety of ways. If one way doesn't work, there are plenty of other options.

You kind of invited it with the way you titled your Thread. People on the forum are very generous and willing to help people who are asking for help. You didn't ask for help. You just told everyone the One is not for you, and listed as reasons several things that you could have been helped with, since they are not problems that cannot be fixed. The notification light is the only thing you mentioned which is a design choice on the part of HTC which we cannot help you with. "What we have here is a failure to communicate." ;)

Ok I'm not going to bash you or even attempt to show any hate but would like you to understand why things came at you the way they did. You made a thread in a forum with people who like love this phone. You didn't ask for help which most people in here take pride in giving, you make a thread saying goodbye because you don't know how to transfer your music and pictures. Yes the response probably should have just been bye and don't let the door hit you on the way out but like I said people are very passionate about this phone so I wish you well on your next phone and before you make a thread with your new phone complaining about simple features you might want to ask first.

The post about the drag and drop was condescending and rude. The OP obviously is crying out for possible solutions to his issues. He's did choose the HTC One as his device right?
Perhaps you could have opted for a more mature and friendly approach and offered to educate him about drag and drop or at least find out if he knew how.
Some people just choose to be nasty and rude when there are always more positive options available.
These are the type of threads that need to be moderated as soon as posters start making nasty posts as opposed to addressing the OP's issues in the same mature, respectful manner that the OP did. So he said he's leaving the HTC One. Obviously he wants help with some issues he's having with the device. Try to take the high road. I could understand if the OP just said F@#k the HTC One! No, he was respectful. Can't we return the favor?

i'm sorry, but these types of threads are hilarious. what's the point of telling us you're getting rid of the phone? i came from blackberry to android, and it took about a week to adjust to different settings, buttons, notifications, etc. and for all the ex-iphone users missing the home button, just give it a chance and get used to the way this phone works! you'll forget about it in no time...

I think it can do all those thinks it's just that most folks don't know how to that's why it's important to ask questions about any device so you know how too.

Is this for real? A. Notification light - Seriously? B. Not sure what you are doing, but this worked flawlessly for me and I had no clue what I was doing. There are plenty of ways to get this to work.

So let me get this straight, you are ditching the One because you can't change the color of the notification LED and because you couldn't figure out how to sync your music, pictures, etc??

Well, if you read the OP it says "had" the one. Too late to address the OP's issues. I agree with LindtChocowookie and holz75. What is the point of the original post?

By posting that you are "leaving" and your reasons for doing so, you opened yourself up to critism, or advice depending on how you take it. But you can't blame others for you putting yourself here...
That being said, I wish the One had a bigger battery, higher pixel count on the Ultrapixel cam, and a few other things that other phones do have. However those are things I can live with because as a whole, it is much better than the alternative!
