Question GOOGLE ACCOUNT SIGN IN PAGE KEEPS POPPING UP!

On my Samsung Android Galaxy Tablet. For the past several days only when ever i open an app the screen asks me to sign into my google account which i do not want to do and i cannot access the app unless i sign into my google account. I have tried everything including connections in third party apps and toggling the cog switch to OFF, unsyncing my phone and tablet in chrome settings and also selecting and removing the sign in prompt in security settings but still the pop up happens!. It started by itself several days ago. It even pops up and asks me to sign in even when i'm already signed in!! Can anyone tell me how to stop it without actually deleting my google account?. ALSO is it possible to sign out of my google account on both my devices ( phone and tablet) at the same time? I can sign out one device from the other device and vice versa, but if i have only one device signed to my google account there is NO sign out option on that sole signed in device..many thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Which Galaxy Tab do you have? Which apps are you trying to use that keep asking for your Google account?

Android devices have to be set up with a Google account. Once you've done that, depending on the device, you might be able to create a separate guest profile, but not all devices have that feature. So there's no way to completely sign out of your Google account on an entire device.

Hi thanks for the reply. It's an old Galaxy 10.1 using nougat software. It's not only when I open an app like instagram and tik tok etc that the Google account sign in page pops up. It pops up even when I'm not opening an app . I have to close it several times before it stops only for it to start happening again. It's only been happening for the past few days and I didn't change any settings to make it start happening. .thanks.

Then the question would be what exactly prompting you for the login. If it shows up even when not opening an app, it could be the system itself, or it could be some other app in the background that is encouraging you to sign in.

In the system settings of the tablet, go to Accounts -- are you actually signed into the tablet itself with your Google account?

Hi...no not signed in to the Google Account...when i am the pop up stops. So what i have to do is sign in , open the app i want then sign out and then the pop up stops until i open the app again ( no specific app, the pop up seems to happen with most of the apps i open).. I think i mentioned that the pop up even happens when i'm not opening an app and just searching the tablet and deciding what app to open. It must be google that have done this as i havn't changed any settings or downloaded any new apps etc...thanks.

Google is heavily inserted in many manufactures devices, you should be sign in as many apps use google, you can use package disabler pro to eliminate google stuff but you won't be able to use them and they'll way your doing it makes me think you want use some of Google's apps so in short you can't have both to use their apps and not be prompted to sign in .

Hi..but why has it suddenly started happening over the past 5 days!? Previously, and for the past 4 years, with the same tablet i used apps without the google sign in prompt popping up every 10 seconds even on my standby screen!, and i only signed in when i needed or wanted to.

If I had to guess google probably changed this at some point, they change the app API and security measures

Yes i agree thats what i think too but i thought then it would happen on my android phone too but it doesn't. Also if google has instigated this prompt i would have that this forum and the internet would been flooded with questions about the same issue but i havn't seen any comments recently..many thanks.

Most people sign in to their Google account and never sign out, since the Google account is needed for almost everything on the device. Hence, there aren't many questions because signing in and staying signed in are expected behaviours.
