Google allo

Yes, the APK is out there but it doesn't work properly unless you have credentials supplied by G. The public authentication servers aren't online yet, so you can't do anything except look at the icon (which is a fake icon) on your homescreen.

pretty much. You have to keep in mind that this isn't a game... or a simple app. 99% of its function is dependant on server side stuff. Without that backend in place and working, the apk is something that just takes up space on your phone.

Yeah but doesn't the app run over a carriers network and not Google's own servers?

Ok but it's akso supposed to be cross platform at the same token as well though for with iOS and Android.

Well, just because Google's servers are involved doesn't mean it's locked to Android. The apps might be platform specific, of course, but Google doesn't limit things on the back end. Their services like Hangouts, Photos, Drive, etc, all work cross platform.

That's true. I just can't wait to use allo and duo. I really hope they work well.
