Have you used either of these? I've never tried either so I'm not familiar with them. Do they work good?

Nearby Share, Quick Share, Private Share, I can never remember which one is which. Too many shares...

I do use Quick Share to move files between devices. Works great.

I, however, do not like to leave sharing enabled. So I enable it on both devices, share the file, then disable it on both devices. That makes it not so quick, but that's of my own doing....

I keep near by share enabled hoping that one day someone will want share something with me. On the flip side, I've never tried to randomly share anything with anyone. Not sure how it works on Apple with air drop but it seems like it's less complicated. At least from the stories I've heard.

I've used both and both work well. Combining them would be good though, as having both is a bit unnecessary and confusing.

I use Quick Share all the time. take a truck load of pics of the grandkids and then send them to the bride....so quick and easy.

Nope lol.. haven't needed to.

Would be nice if there would be something for these kinds of local "shares" and "drops" (aka: AirDrop) that were fully interoperable across all of Android and iOS. Heck, there's probably a need for that way more than interoperable RCS across Android/iOS.

I wonder why it didn't work for me and my husband/ We were out one night and he had wanted me to send him like 35 pictures I had taken earlier and it kept failing. Only time I think we tried it. Maybe the pics were too big of a file and to many at once I don't know.

for that many, I just wait till I get home, we're on the same Wi-Fi and it's golden. most I've ever done at one time is maybe 12.

I wind up using AirDroid. Another solution that also addresses leaving everything enabled all the time.

I've found Nearby Share on the Pixel extremely slow. Transferring a 1gb file from my phone to my PC took about 40 mins.

If they do merge the two, hope the can speed it up.

so Saturday night I ended up transferring about 32 pics and a couple of videos to the bride with Quick Share (at home on Wi-Fi). I think it happened in 3 seconds.
