Google app is slow for me

The Google app has been slow in finding results for me lately. I'm referring to the blue color square icon with the small "g" in the middle. For example, if trying to find a local Safeway store nearby, the app sometimes takes 30 seconds or longer to find results. I seem to recall the app being much faster in the past. Anyone else experiencing this?
