Google App

I get notifications for news articles and such from the Google app. When is click the notification, it just takes me to the top of the Google app. Many times it's repopulated and that article is no where to be seen. Anyone know how to make the app take you to what it is showing in the notification?

Which phone do you have? If the firmware has really aggressive app-killing, then maybe the Google app is getting killed in the background, such that when you tap the notification to try to open a story, it just opens Google afresh. Try turning off Battery Optimization for the Google app in the system settings.
