So, I got a Motorola Backflip from AT&T. I don't have a SIM in the phone, but I activated it with a friend's.

I've got it on my WiFi. Google apps aren't working, except for Contacts, Maps, and YouTube. It tells me there was a network error. I can browse the web and stuff like that.

How can I make this work?

Try clearing the cache in the market app under Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> All Apps -> market

I was just talking to an AT&T store rep today about how he uses Wi-Fi w/o the SIM to get market apps that are not available with the SIM.

I of course also recommended the Android Central Sideload Wonder Machine! ;)

I'd already tried to clear the cache, but it didn't do anything.

I've tried it with and without the SIM.

I also tried the SWM to sideload my market apps from my EVO, but a "permission denied" error showed up.

I just did a factory reset of the phone. I'll see if that helps me any. :/
